ASUS, manufacturer of world-leading motherboards, has released the new ASUS P6T WS Professional motherboard. The P6T WS Professional is capable of delivering powerful and dependable performance, together with unparalleled I/O scalability for the most demanding tasks and future upgrades. With ASUS’ innovative design, the P6T WS Professional is able to support both SLI™ and CrossFireX™ technologies for extreme and extraordinary graphics. Furthermore, it is equipped with 2 built-in SAS connectors and 2 onboard PCI-X slots to provide users flexibility in selecting multiple storage solutions. With such diverse features and functionality, as well as energy-efficiency through the ASUS EPU, the P6T WS Professional is a pure breed that delivers high performance and enhances work quality.

With built-in SLI/CrossFireX on Demand, the P6T WS Professional presents users with outstanding imagery. This revolutionary technology allows users to enjoy either SLI™ technology or CrossFireX™ support on the same motherboard, meaning users will be able to install up to two 2-way SLI-capable graphics cards and have the option to run a CrossFireX setup instead of an SLI one. Whatever the course, users are guaranteed amazing graphics performance for improved operations.

The P6T WS Professional also provides users with onboard Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) ports that support hard drive upgrade adaptability, while retaining full compatibility with the ASUS optional SASsaby card. As the focus is now leaning more towards energy efficiency, the P6T WS Professional comes equipped with ASUS exclusive EPU technology. This innovative feature controls six major components: the CPU, VGA card, memory, chipset, hard drives, and the CPU cooler/system fan. A database containing all Intel CPU profiles helps the EPU intelligently identify and select the correct CPU profile and makes the necessary adjustments for the best possible settings to ensure the paramount power management. Relating to the chipset and memory, the EPU also provides power savings through improved thermal capabilities, boosting system stability for longer component lifespan and advanced overclocking. As for VGA cards, the EPU automatically detects system loading and adjusts the VGA card’s voltage and frequency – saving up to 37% VGA power during everyday computing. With clever monitoring of the hard disk and fans, power wastage is reduced during periods of idling data access helping to minimise hard drive and fan noise for quieter acoustics.

A more enjoyable and interesting ASUS workstation, during bootup, the Diag. LED checks key components (CPU, DRAM, VGA card and HDD) sequentially. If an error is found, the LED next to the error device will remain lit until the problem is solved. Once successfully booted up, the LEDs around the ASUS branding on the motherboard flicker brilliantly bright with a deep blue light. Much like the steady rhythm of deep breaths, the ASUS ‘heartbeat’, this flashing feature depicts the P6T WS Professional ‘coming to life’.

What’s more, the built-in Express Gate operating system makes a host of commonly used online applications available to users in just 5 seconds from bootup; including the web browser, instant messenger, Skype, photo manager, music player and online games to name a few. With this convenient, instant access to the internet, users can send that last-minute email before rushing off to work, browse the web in between appointments and reach friends and family via instant messenger, all in the blink of an eye.

Finally, the P6T WS Professional comes with a G.P. Diagnosis card – a useful tool which that provides prompt and precise system checks and displays errors on the LED display, helping users to quickly pinpoint errors. Connected on the TPM header, the G.P. Diagnosis card also offers great convenience by being near the onboard reset and power buttons for easy troubleshooting.
