Sharkoon Flexi-Drive S2S: SSD-Adapter in 2.5 inch SATA format for up to six SDHC cards / MSRP 79 euros
Solid State Disks (SSDs) are all the rage these days. The robust flash based hard drives offer many advantages to typical magnetic storage solutions. Silent operation, minimal electricity requirements, almost no heat build-up and fast read/write rates. Because of their high resistance to shock and impact damage, SSDs are especially suited for mobile computers. Disadvantages include their high price and relatively low capacity--at this time capacities greater than 128GB are hard to find.

Gingle announces tri-channel memory for Intel X58 chipsets
Gingle, the professional manufacturer of DRAM and Flash products, today announces the triple-channel DDR3 1800/ 1600 6GB/ 3GB memory modules kit specifically for the new Intel-based X58 motherboards.
Designed to fulfill the speed and performance requirements in meeting consumer demand for all-new X58 platform, Gingle DDR3 1800 memory module features high performance (1800MHz on X58), lower latency (8-8-8-24), and lower power consumption ( Work @ 1.65V~1.8V ). With its exceptional features, the Gingle DDR3 Tri-channel memory module has turned out to be the best choice to bring out the full potential of the X58 platform.
About this time last year Intel launched what was the fastest 45nm quad core CPU on the planet, the Intel Core 2 Quad QX9770. Well, guess what, Intel has done it again with the latest architectural achievement, the Core I7 Extreme 965. What the two have is common is that they both are based on Penryn cores, they both are 45 nanometer chips and they both run at a clock speed of 3.2GHz. After these things what you have is a whole new animal. Gone from this chip is the twelve megabytes of L2 cache, this is replaced by a third level of cache at 8MB. Slow and inefficient it is not. With the addition of an integrated memory controller, the memory bandwidth is expected to be huge by comparison to today's top of the line processors, somewhere close to two to three times the peak bandwidth. SMT (Simultaneous Multi Threading) has made a return on the Core I7 generation. This will enable the processor to run a total of eight threads at one time. Some other new features are Dynamic Energy Management, new SSE4 instructions, three level cache with a shared 8MB L3 cache and improved branch prediction. Many are interested in the new efficiencies and features, while many think this generation will be the Holy Grail of processors, Let's find out just how it performs. That's the question that is on everyone's mind.
I love the big screen monitors. After I went from a 19" CRT to a 22" LCD I couldn't go back - anything else left a sour taste in my mouth. Today we are looking at a Samsung SyncMaster 2463uw 24" LCD. When I got this opportunity I was excited, 24" is the sweet spot for monitors nowadays, I wouldn't go higher, anything above a 24" is borderline on becoming a TV and that is for watching movies on. The SyncMaster 2463uw has quite an impressive list of specifications and features, from a nice full 1920x1200 resolution and a 20000:1 contrast ratio to a built in microphone and web cam, this monitor is loaded with everything.
Gigabyte’s board is based upon the Intel P45 Express chipset that they’ve used in many a board including the EP45-DS4R, the EP45-DQ6 and others Doc and I have reviewed in the last few months. The P45 Express chipset does not natively support FSB 1600MHz, but the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P supports all LGA-775 CPUs including the QX9770 CPU on the FSB 1600.
Gigabyte is really pushing the fact that this board supports their third generation of Ultra Durable technology. The PCB is 2 oz of copper per square foot of motherboard space which should provide lower operating temperatures for the motherboard than a traditional design. Gigabyte claims up to 50 degrees Celsius lower temperatures over traditional designs. Lower RDS (on) MOSFETs are also part of the UD3 design. These offer lower temperatures, lower power consumption during the switching process smaller size and better thermal characteristics.
